Buffet for Jo

Andy learnt that the Polyclinic near our home would be having a nutritional talk: how to wean your babies, what to feed, how to prepare, store food, etc. Nurse told him to `bring your baby' cos there'll be a variety of food prepared. Buffet for Jo? Hahaa.. that would be cute I thought.

So there we were, 4 of us (Timo wanted to tag along too) in the room with 3 other parties. Talk was really educational. Andy found it really invaluable. Although we have done it once with Timo, there were some tips that we never knew of, that was pretty handy.

Buffet? Well, that didn't happen of course. Only person who was given a munchie was Timo. Nurse gave him a banana.

This sounds interesting. I have been wanting to go to the sessions but I keep missing them. I have developed phobia of travelling with Ainsley alone cos she's so heavy if I use the carrier and I can't manage the pram alone either.

bring husband, mother, maid, friend, sibling, or anyone who can lend a hand. either that, or go alone. there was 1 mother who went alone. another brought her maid & mother. mother had her questions about `old wives' tale' on what can or cannot be eaten, so it was an interesting mix.

What myths were uncovered?
I usually have sole responsiblity of ainsley on weekends so I can't go alone. Mom needs a break and doesn't like me to leave ainsley there on weekends.

I am one who usually takes my cue from nutritional books rather than from hear-say based on nothing.

Basically, the grandmother would comment to her daughter (& nurse) that certain foods should not be consumed by the baby; apples (encourage phelgm), bean curd jelly, lamb & beef (cannot remember what they all are bad for). The nurse was good. She was tactful to respond, & basically said it was up to individuals, but the food are some examples of nutrition for babies.
