I've just witnessed a crime from my bedroom window
I've just witnessed a crime from my bedroom window, but I do not know how I can help that poor woman. I was at my PC when I heard this woman scream "come back, he just stole my bag". I looked down from my 17th floor & saw a plump woman desparately running after a man. The guy's much faster as he dashed across the carpark & away from my sight. It's dark & I can't even make out their features & race, but I can see he's in dark tee & pants.
I woke my husband & he didn't know what to do too. I was deliberating if I should call the police, but stopped short cos I do not know if that can help, & how I can help. I feel so totally helpless. Now, I'm sitting here writing this cos it's the only way I know how to deal with this. I am very disturbed. I live in a pretty good neighbourhood (not swanky, but decent), & yet such a bold crime had taken place right before my eyes. I feel paranoid now. Am totally taken out of my comfort zone. My home is not safe!!! That woman could have been me. Just last Fri, I was out with the gals & got home about midnight too.
Should I not wear my jewellry, watch, etc out of my home? Should I only have say $10 in my wallet. Are my boys in any danger if I were to bring them out? I think from now on, if I get home late, I'll get Andy to meet me downstairs & to escort me up home. I'll feel much safer with him around.
I am very disturbed, & my sympathy & apologies go out to that woman victim I saw desparately running after her robber. The trees were partially blocking my view, but I do hope someone on the ground level heard her & gave chase.

I think it's very difficult for you to help unless you saw their faces clearly. But perhaps the good thing about reporting it is that you can collaborate the woman's story if there is a need, but then one doesn't know if there is at this point. Are there any police friends you can ask?
i feel much better after hearing from some neighbours that there were some guys nearby who helped give chase. they could not catch the robber though. what a pity to let him go scott free!
