Meet the local kampong boy

Don't know why, but there's something very dated about this series of photos. They remind me of some kampong in the 70s. Maybe it's the clothes, maybe it's the colour, maybe it's the backdrop, or maybe it's because Timo looks kinda Malay. But whatever it is, Timo had a good time with his new pal, Aidan. Aidan's so much taller, although he's just a year older.

I think it's the background. There's a little stray cat too. :) Do you allow timo to touch them?

Ya, the cat added to the 70s kampong effect. I know you like cats, so I guess you would touch it.

My husband brought Timo to visit his old friends, so I do not know if he allowed to Timo to touch the cat. If I were there, I'd say `no'. You never know how animals will react.

Timo grew up with a dog, so he's not too fascinated with animals. I've just given away the dog, so Jo will not be growing up with a pet. I'll have to keep watchful eye on him.

Why did you give up the dog?
I don't really touch stray cats. Normally don't. But I guess there's nothing against it. I have been checking out this blog written by the Secretary of the Cat Welfare Society. It's pretty informative and insightful. it's at http://catwelfare.blogspot.com
I think it's ok to touch stray animals as long as they are friendly and you wash your hands afterwards. I've had many types of pets and am quite used to animals. Am going to make it a point to have ainsley grow up with love and respect of animals, would be doubly happy if she grows up to champion them, cos so few people will.

Am ashamed of this, but mine is a sad story of a pet dog fallen from ranks (from "baby" who slept on the bed & went everywhere in my car, to 2nd, & then 3rd class citizen when Jo came along). I simply had no time for her. Provided for only the basic stuff, but no more hugs & cuddles. A family friend wanted her, so I thought she'd be better off being his `princess', then being with me.

Actually, it's not the dirty aspect that I'm too concerned about with strays. It's the fact that these are animals, & with them, you never can predict their temperament. Don't want their eyeballs be clawed out or something by a stray. Just have to be careful with strays.
