Luke's milk
Last night, Luke's mommy told me she's devastated cos she's realised that her milk supply may dry up very soon. Said the whole emotional downhill took her by surprise. That reminded me of how I felt 4 years ago with Timo. Andy was the strong advocate of breast milk, & as for me, I said 6 month's sufficient. So, when mastitis kicked in 4 times, I was compelled to take medication to pull the brakes at 3 months. I felt very "robbed". Also, I felt like it was such a spectacular failure. It's a very odd feeling, so I can totally understand how she's feeling.
Ever since my 2 boys took turns to be hospitalised earlier this month, my supply's plugged dramatically. From my "glorious days" of having 30 bottles in reserve, it's down to like 1-3 bottles now. Think production cessation is imminent. Do not know how I will feel. My initial target was 6 months. Exceeded that by over a month, so I suppose I should not feel miserable, but triumphant. Well, we'll see. In the meantime, I hope she can increase her supply so that Luke can have her milk for a couple months more.

Dinner at the beach
I am absolutely enjoying the moment now with timo. Just the two of us having dinner at the beach hut. We are sharing Fish and chips, coke for timo and beer for me. Good music from the live band (the very reason why timo chose this restaurant). Excellent and friendly service(especially when they replaced the fish that timo found to be too tough). It is a very exhilarating experience, especially when it is very evident timo is really enjoying himself. We should do this more often. What date could be hotter than this ;)

Kiddy rides in the malls
I liken kiddy rides in malls to `traps'. Kiddies will simply run towards it, & then budging, beg for some $. Some kids scream & wail when they do not get their way, & parents have to literally tear them away from the machines. Fortunately Timo does not do that sort of thing. `No' means no. Of course, I do relent sometimes, but I feel the $1 & $2 rides in the malls way too costly. Mothercare has a $0.50 one that is still within my threshold. Then, of course there are those what Andy calls `dirty ones' dotting the way to the mall on the roads. These costs $0.20 each, so I'd rather Timo sits in them. Anyway, we'll be going home for a scrub down.
When Timo was younger, his Grandpa got him a bouncy/rocking/wheeling ride-on Tigger. Thought that might do the trick of luring him away from kiddy rides outsite. That didn't quite do the trick, & Tigger didn't last very long. Maybe our usage was a tad too rough?
Recently, I was really happy to see that someone locally was selling a used Tomy ride on train set with tracks. I had seen this 4 years ago in the shops, but then they disappeared when I went back to purchase it. Shops told me that the product was discontinued. This morn, I bought it from a Daddy & brought it back home. Timo was very delighted. He's been going round in circles on it, & I hope the train does not break down & lasts long enough for Jo to have a go. Right now he is too young, & my MIL said he protests when she put him on for a lil ride. Said he'd rather watch it go round.

I got knocked down
I got knocked down for the first time on my bike. I had such a bad feeling when timo told me to be careful this morn. He has never done it before. So maybe it was murphy's law at work - you know, whatever that you think may happen, will happen, or something like that. Anyway, i am fine. Just a bruise on my leg, but my clutch handle is broken in half and am waiting for my usual knight in shiny armour - my darling husband. He always comes along to try fix or get my bike fixed. Oh, i must also thank my other knight - a guy who works in same building as me. He was nice to get off his bike to help me pick up mine. As a matter of fact, it is interesting to note that there are many knights in all forms. They simply appear when i am looking pathetically hapless beside my vehicles - be it my broken down bike or car. Good ol gallantry is still alive in this age, and i am so thankful for it. Meanwhile, i am still awaiting for my darling regular knight so that i can get to work without being too late.

Home tonight :)
Tummy upset
Naive me. I thought withe sleep, his tummy upset would have settled. He was up at 5am, wailing loudly. Was very stressed trying to hush him cos there are 3 other patients in the room. The visits to the bathroom were frequent till the doc came for their daily morning rounds. After administering some laxatives, Timo's ordeal was over. Andy came today to take Timo home, but doc said it looks like Timo cannot go home as yet. This especially since he vomitted when she was around. Sigh....

Just the 2 of us this evening
It's a nice feeling, just the 2 of us this evening. It was quite a different when I first arrived, quite a bit of drama. My MIL had stepped out and into the car as I had arrived, so Timo was left alone for 5 mins (max). He was wailing, & comforted by a nurse, a mommy, & a grandma.
Anyway, the rest of the evening progressed well. He was his jovial & chatty self, & he even coaxed me into getting him a new car set from the 7-11 store. That bought me some time whilst I had a bath. He grumbled of some tummy upset, & after several trips to the bathroom where nothing really was expelled, he settled for bed. Generally, he looks well, & I think we can go home tomorrow.

Timo is warded too
We really cannot believe this?! Neither could the nurses who found us familiar. We left this ward just less than 2 days ago, and are now back again?! And in the same ward too?! Sigh. Better get some shut eye. I have to turn up for work tomorrow too. Been on leave too often recently for hospital stays. Jo is due here tomorrow morn for a review. Andy is fearful that he too gets admitted. That's a really scary thought that i do not want even think of!

1st Jo then now Timo
I had stomach flu yesterday, and timo's just threw up twice. I must have passed him the virus. If he throws up 1 more time, we will bring him to the hospital's emergency department. First it was Jo, and now, a possibility Timo?! My poor baby was crying so much. I asked him if he was a lil sacred, to which he replied, 'no, very sacred'. I do hope that was the last time he would be throwing up. I also hope that Jo does not contract it. Andy had been caring for him there past 2 days. Hope that does some help.

"Happy Wheezer's" home!!!
When A&E doc said he's a "Happy Wheezer", I thought she was implying he was a happy baby or something. Then, the house doc also termed him that. So now I know that it means that he's wheezing, but is not affected badly by it as he can still eat, drink, play, etc.
Today, Doc said Jo's still a lil wheezy, but is able to go home. We have to keep close watch over him though, as well as to keep him away from crowds for a while. What's worrying is the cloud of haze hovering in the region. For selfish reasons, I do hope the wind does change its course & swing around in our direction.

Kudos to Daddy
Andy received praise from the day-shift nurses when he took care of jo in hospital last month. I think he did a great job again today cos jo was unmanageable, crying alot, and Andy was all by himself the entire day. It is night and my shift. The marathon is still on. I hope jo sleeps well tonight and can go home tomorrow. Then i can go to office with a peace of mind.
Jo misses home
Jo must be missing home. He got up for a drink, then cries as he turns all around to survey his environment. He now does not want to drink. Just clings onto me n wails.

NDP Carnival @ Marina South
We left Jo with my MIL & headed to Marina South for the NDP Carnival. Had read about it, but this was our 1st time to the event. It was a showcase of the nation's total defense, as well as a celebration of sorts with concerts, fireworks, etc. We only managed to cover a segment of the total defense section, and I must say, 3 of us had fun.
We (including Timo) had a go at the army's shooting range (blanks of course), viewed and climbed onboard several of the vehicles on display. It was somewhat odd to see military vehicles reduced to kiddy rides, but we went onboard one nonetheless. There were several stations for rides military vehicles, but only 1 for the fire truck. Timo wanted this, but we persuaded him to abandon the idea as the staff at hand estimated the queue would take a good 1hr. We found one on sidpaly though, & the staff was nice to put on a firefighter's jacket & helmet on Timo. That was the highlight of his day :)

Botched attempt to photograph 3 monkeys again
It's not often that the 3 "monkeys" get to meet, & each time they do, we do not succeed in taking any good group photographs of the 3. It's either the 2 bigger kids want to be in it & to be part of the action, or 1 that is crying (usually Jo), or 1 is asleep (as in the case this particular night last week). Tsk.. tsk.. better luck next time I suppose?
