Yipeee!! We can go home!
Doc has signed the discharge papers. We can go home now :)
A 9 year old who had been here with us since Sunday, is also able to go home. He's in here for the same thing. A 1 mth old just got in, & she's in for the same thing. On the way to the car park, we met a 4 mth old. Also in here for the same thing.
Doc told us earlier, that `it's the season' now for this RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus), a viral disease of the lungs. Looks like she wasn't exaggerating. She said it was best to keep Jo at home as much as possible for now, lest he gets infected again.

what is RSV? How does one get it/avoid getting it?
Oh, forgot to say I'm so glad to hear you and jo are back home! It must be such a great feeling,
the baby is very cute and chubby. RSV? I want to ask too. Alot of people get sick recently... and it never end!
Hi.
I got some info from these websites:
http://www.rsvprotection.com/
http://www.rsvinfo.com/
Basically, Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) affects nearly all babies by the age of 2. In adults and children, RSV usually causes mild cold-like symptoms. But in premature babies and children with certain other medical conditions, it can develop into a serious respiratory illness requiring hospitalization.
Symptoms
Usually, RSV causes mild, cold-like symptoms, such as a runny nose and fever. However, in some babies, the symptoms can quickly get worse.
How to avoid this, is to basically avoid crowds, & people who are ill (cough, flu).
Hope the above helps.
